The Civil Division of the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office is comprised of five attorneys experienced in a wide variety of civil litigation, including employment issues, contracts, construction law, school law, tax recoupment, land use and zoning matters.  We provide legal counsel to all sixteen townships in Geauga County, and provide the legal representation of county departments, boards and agencies.

Our broad range of responsibilities include the prosecution of civil litigation initiated on behalf of our clients as well as the defense of our clients in suits brought against them.  Our representation extends to various state and federal courts, as well as a variety of administrative settings such as personnel issues before the State Personnel Board of Review. 

In addition to offering solid legal representation both inside and outside the courtroom, the Civil Division performs extensive research and writing of legal opinions on a wide variety of subjects requested by our clients.  We also assist our clients in forming practical and logical responses, policies and programs.
